We were treated to a great game between the Goldpanners and the Merchants on Wednesday night.   The weather was perfect and the play was intense. 

Yet another great contest between the two clubs suggests that the Midnight Sun Game will be a great battle. 

With strong pitching and patience at the plate, the Merchants took advantage of Goldpanner errors to take the lead early.   Our pitching staff was able to fight through many hard jams — particularly by Carl Robinson, who worked his way out of a bases-loaded jam inherited from Patrick Hennessey.

In the end, it was not enough.   The Washington State club was able to push across the plate a go-ahead run late in the game and it proved to be the difference. 

The game was broadcast as part of another PannerVision marathon.   Both games are being re-broadcast in their entirety this morning.
